Where to Find the Error Description, Error Log Files for Asp.Net Core Applications on Windows Server 2016 with IIS 10, 8.5
When I publish my application to the Windows IIS Internet Information Server, the error http Error 502.5 Process Failure appears.
Where can I find an indication on the server why the application can not be started?

To do this, switch to Windows-> Start-> Event Viewer in Windows Server

Then you will find the detailed error descriptions under:
Event Viewer (local) -> Windows Logs-> Application
Then wait for the ad to build (takes a few seconds)
Click on the error at Error and read the description in details

The errors of the Kestrel server core are displayed, which are passed from the IIS server to the core server.
Error message in the browser:

  • The application process started but then stopped
  • The application process started but failed to listen on the configured port
